Collapsible Panel Instructions for Adaptive Technology Users

This website uses collapsible panels to organize its content visually. Collapsible panels are sections of a Web page that contain content, which can be collapsed to shorten the length of the Web page by selectively hiding the panel's content. This allows more content to appear visually on the web page without the need for scrolling. For each collapsible panel, there is a tab which can be opened and closed (expanded or collapsed) to reveal or hide the tab's content. When using screen-reading software, these tabs will be seen as forms, labeled "example 1 - page 14- a. tab", "example 1 - page 14- a. tab"...

To open the collapsible panels with screen-reading software, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the tab using the arrow keys or forms menu.
  2. Ensure forms mode is on.
  3. Activate the tab with the Spacebar or by pressing Enter (the screen-reader may confirm that the tab is now open.)
  4. If the screen-reading software does not confirm that the tab is open, press the down arrow key once.
  5. Exit forms mode.
  6. Navigate down the page and explore the exposed content.
  7. To close the tab, repeat the steps above, but press the up arrow key for step 4 instead.

To open the collapsible panels with the keyboard and not screen-reading software, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the panel using the "tab" key.
  2. Press the down arrow key once to open the panel.
  3. To close the panel, repeat the steps above, but press the up arrow key for step 2 instead.

You must do this for every individual tab. If you need help please contact [Name] at [email] or xxx-xxx-xxx
